Joe Kidd & Sheila Burke provide the soundtrack to this exhibition of pop art reflecting the culture of the psychedelic era.  Works provided by some of Americas most famous and most influential artists. The 1960s was an era of social upheaval and civil unrest for many young people who questioned, disapproved and sought change to the conventional American culture, values, morals and civic duties of their time. The historical Summer of Love took place in 1967 San Francisco, CA, in and around the area of Haight and Ashbury Streets. Thousands of young people, many of whom were artists, poets and musicians, converged on Haight/Ashbury to come in to their own right. The Summer of Love was a celebration of life, love, and freedom, with art and music playing key roles. “Summer of Loving the DCA” is a reflection of that spirit.
